The ChinmayaVidyalaya has in its logo, the lamp and the ‘Hamsa’ bird. In the light of theScriptures (represented by the lamp) the discriminative power of the humanintellect is to be developed (represented by the Hamsa bird). Vedic traditiondescribes Hamsa as a bird that can drink milk alone from a mixture of milk andwater. The human intellect with its discriminative power must be able todiscriminate between Spirit and Matter and must come to enjoy the Spiritualessence in the world of names and forms. Thus the emblem indicates that thefunction of the Mission is to help people in developing ethical values andcultivating in them a discriminative intellect.
